In 2000. Robert  retired from Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu where he had been a partner for nearly 20 years specialising in the areas of business management and advisory services, computing, forensic accounting, audit and firm management. 

Thai Experience

Robert was the first expatriate Managing Partner of the Deloitte Thailand practice, where he served for 4 years between 1995 and 1998. During that time his firm grew from 250 people to over 600 as he internationalised the practice. 

He has first hand experience of the Thai business and HR culture, having helped many multinational and other businesses establish in Thailand, as well as leading the culture change for his Thai firm and speaks regularly at forums on these topics. 

Robert is the National President Australian Thailand Business Council (ATBC), President of the Australia Thailand Association Inc., and a member of AsiaLink and Asia Society.

He was involved with the ATBC's activities in the discussions with business and Government in the lead up to the finalisation of the Bi-lateral Free Trade Agreement between Australia and Thailand.

Robert was a founding member of the Thai Culture and Food Festival Inc which organised the inaugural Thai Culture and Food Festival at federation Square Melbourne in April 2004 with over 20,000 visitors, the 4th festival in 2005 attracted approximately 50,000 visitors.

He plays an active role with the Thai community and was involved in the arrangements for hosting the Prime Minister of Thailand's visit to Melbourne on July 5 2004 and the gala charity celebration for the Queen of Thailand's 72nd birthday.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England of Wales and of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a Registered Company Auditor.

Lyndall has recently returned from Thailand, where she was involved in a number of welfare projects. 

She has first hand experience of Thai culture, has assisted a number of expatriates settling into Thailand, and understands the issues facing families living in Bangkok as well as those returning to Australia. 

Lyndall has extensive experience in graduate recruitment both in Thailand and in Australia and understands cross-cultural HR issues, having worked in England, Scotland, France, Thailand and Australia.

She speaks conversational Thai and French.

She has degrees in Business (Human Resources) and Psychology and most recently a post grad in Psychology (Counselling) from Monash University where she researched how Coping Styles differ between South East Asian and Australian students.

Lyndall has worked for a number of years in Human Resources  in Australia, Thailand and UK.

As founder of MindSteps: Counselling for Life - Lyndall provides personal counselling to private clients with a variety of issues.

Peter has a background in health, accounting and law. Formerly a partner of Deloitte who has advised on regulatory and anti-corruption issues for regulatory authorities throughout Asia, Peter practices independently as a barrister- at law and holds qualifications in mediation.  He lectures at Monash and Melbourne Universities.

Louise heads AusThai Connections administrative and marketing services.  She is the event co-ordinator for Melbourne's Thai Culture and Food Festival.  Louise has for many years conducted a private import business in home wares.
